QA Engineer – Smashing Boxes

Daily Responsibilities Include:

  • Author and execute test plans with a mindset of automate first, manual test last
  • Work with web and mobile developers to expand their automated test suites
  • Adhere to core testing principles set by team and group leadership
  • Record and document results and compare to expected results
  • Develop and document application test plans based on software requirements and technical specifications
  • Document anomalies and issues in solid bug reports
  • Participate in application planning meetings
  • Ensure data integrity standards


We have a few core requirements, they are:

  • A strong understanding of software testing methodologies
  • Firm grasp of the software development life cycle, technical requirements, and project management
  • Prior automation, software testing, or programming experience
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Strong eye for detail and ability to quickly define defects
  • Must also have the ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team
  • Exceptional communication and organizational abilities

QA Automation Engineer –Awesome

We are seeking talented Software Web QA Automation Engineers to join a new team that is building responsive web designs. As a member of the team you’ll create and influence innovative solutions that meet not only functional, but also performance, scalability and reliability requirements. You will be expected to work as a member of a high functioning Scrum team to help drive the next generation user experience.
Primary Responsibilities of QA Automation Engineer
  • Work as an Agile team member to provide solutions to business stories (requirements) including automated test scenarios
  • Participate in understanding and grooming of user stories, create QA tasks, test cases, and functional automation
  • Participate in product demos at iteration reviews
  • Log defects/issues and work with team members to ensure resolution
  • Participate in defect triage
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on enterprise software QA engineering, analysis, and testing experience
  • Working knowledge of functional QA automation
  • Experience in testing web applications and WebServices (REST API’s)
  • Experience with writing SQL queries
  • Familiarity with SOAP UI a plus
  • Strong understanding of defect tracking tools and processes
  • Experience with Selenium, Gerkin, and Java is strongly desired
Skills and Knowledge for QA Automation Engineer
  • Strong understanding and QA engineering, analysis, and testing
  • Strong technical understanding of SW development
  • Experience or understanding of Agile software development methodology
  • Ability to promote a culture of collaboration and teamwork
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic business environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
